Just thought it would be cool to have a thing on Matrix for this community as well. There’s a discord server, but you have to have your phone number attached to your account to be there now

I think the other other commenter gave the details. Irc is like matrix, but a different protocol. Like matrix and discord. Not sure if they have bridges in the irc room to communicate with matrix rooms, but you’d probably have to make an account on libera irc first.
