E2: picked up Mirror’s Edge on GoG instead for the same price ($3). Disabled PhysX and it runs like a dream.

In the future try checking ProtonDB before buying/refunding. For Mirror’s Edge in particular, it seems all you have to do is disable PhysX. ProtonDB is an amazing tool, everyone should check it out!
minus-squareUlrich@feddit.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 month agoNice. Well I happened to see it on sale on GoG and I prefer to buy from there anyway so I’ll give it another try.
minus-squaremohab@piefed.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up4·1 month agoIf anyone can afford it, I recommend the Neva + Gris bundle. Neva is even better, IMO.
minus-squareSnoopey@lemmy.dbzer0.comlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·1 month agoWere there any physx settings turned on when running Mirror’s Edge? It can bring a 5090 to it’s knees due to removal of 32bit physx support. Great recent gamer’s nexus video on it. Anyway, physx running on the CPU with Mirror’s Edge kills fps

minus-squaremrhenry77@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkarrow-up1·17 days agomirrors edge is a gem, and i played the whole thing on deck years ago, it ran flawlessly!

Gris is great. Small, but beautiful.

Yes. What do I do about that?
