Russia does announce kills, but their numbers are dumb high. Shit like announcing more Ukrainian aircraft destroyed than Ukraine has. Nobody pays attention to them because they don’t pass even a basic smell test.
IIRC at some point they announced that they’ve destroyed more HIMARS launchers than was ever promised to Ukraine (back then) and well before even the first one crossed the border.
