This is a hard question for somebody like me, obsessed with slashers, to answer but ultimately I think I have to give the nod to Halloween for being the best directed slasher I believe I’ve ever seen with the best atmosphere and mood to separate itself from the more schlocky imitators.
Nightmare on Elm Street. Like Scream it’s just fun to watch.

Child’s Play (1988)
Chucky is great.
Hatchet (2006) I love the whole series and have seen all 4 more times than I can count.
I think I only seen the first two but remember enjoying them. Should check out the rest.
Not sure if it qualifies, but I love Terrifier 2
