Wikipedia says he’s a historian, but he’s literally just a journalist who took whatever any random person told him about Stalin as fact. He’s responsible for most of the modern myths about him.

What primary sources prove that Stalin had an intimate relationship with Lidia Pereprygina (a 14 year old)?
I came across this claim on wikipedia and tried to explain it to a Stalin defended on twitter (my first mistake). Despite the books wikipedia cites being from scholarly, reliable sources, they are dismissed as western propaganda. I went to the books to try and find a primary source, but they only cite other books. Does anyone know how historians know what Stalin did this?

Since Khrushchev did not accuse Stalin of this in his 1956 “Secret Speech,” I did not deal with it in Khrushchev Lied.
I have looked into it in some depth — enough to say that there’s pretty good evidence that Stalin had a son while in exile in Siberia. I don’t think anyone denies this.
What is not determined is Lidia Pereprygina’s age when she had the child.
Anticommunists would like to say that she was as young as possible, say, 13 or 14. That is the only reason that this story continues to circulate — to make Stalin a “pedophile,” or something.
In fact, LP’s age when Stalin and she began to live together is not clear.
It is an actual existing surname, but it is pretty uncommon.
Not really reliable if they aren’t reliably found then, now are they?

I’m extremely sus about any claim about Stalin that I’ve seen made by Western anticommunists but not by Russian anticommunists. This is a very strong indicator that it was completely made up.
