I was going to comment that 6.5 years is a pretty decent chunk of time for what he did, but after reading all the details about the statements he made and how brazen he was about literally overthrowing the U.S. government, I now agree with you–fucker should be locked up for life. Treason is aiding an adversarial power in a time of war.
This is sedition though, and if memory serves seditious traitors used to be handled the same way as actual treasonous individuals.
