More BS sa kabila that needs debunking.
First of all, these AI reporters aren’t field reporters. They are part of GMA’s NCAA coverage.
Secondly, they’re not even the main reporters. They still have courtside reporters for each team and have been hyping them like crazy (some of them are Kapuso talent being given exposure/seasoning). The AI will be used as supplementary “reporters” for their online channels. Instead of text/captions on shorts, it’s them doing the narration. Wala naman binabayaran dun na person to begin with so they’re not stepping over anyone.
Thirdly, I have a hard time believing that these bots will replace actual humans ever. A bot delivering the news will always look weird and inauthentic than Mel Tiangco, Aljo Bendijo, or Denice Dinsay. They will, however, replace jobs that companies don’t give a shit about/massively undervalue - namely, customer service, tech support, and some writing tasks.
I hope GMA-7 is not dumb enough to replace their eye candy courtside reporters with AI. College hoops TV ratings will tank hard if it happens.
