Sorry if this isn’t the best place for this question, I browse from lemmy.dbzer0 on firefox and am subscribed to a number of hexbear instances, but there seems to be some that just won’t show up from my instance for some reason? In particular !literature@hexbear.net, for whatever reason if I search it just will not show up, other hexbear instances show up fine though. I’m not sure which might not appear other than literature.
Does anyone know if this is caused by my client, my instance, or the literature community limiting it’s visibility? I’m a bit new to how the fediverse infrastructure functions.
**EDIT: Thank you for the help y’all, I still haven’t got to it lol, I might try FumpyAer’s suggestion and maybe it will help others that might have this issue.
Yea it sometimes happens, i believe its because no one has sub before so it doesnt load correctly, easiest way i found to sub is to search comms by typing something like!indigenous@hexbear.net and hitting f5 until it loads and you can sub to it.
The communities will only show up if there’s at least one person in your home instance subbed to it. I think you’d want to navigate to lemmy.dbzer0.com/c/literature@hexbear.net or something to view it. Afterwards you can find it in your home instance
Edit: that link doesn’t work, lemmy try find the correct format…
Edit2: the link should be correct so idk what’s happening
There are tools for this but you can just make an account on your instance that subscribes to every hexbear comm and after that it should show up to any user’s all feeds and search results.
Here is a cool guide: https://github.com/amirzaidi/lemmy
Thank you for the link! That sounds like a good plan, I will look more into this
It happens on our end too and I don’t understand any of this
