So… it’s unlikely to be permanent blindness, just temporary eye pain. I feel pretty OK at laughing at them for that.

It does not sound like a quick flash of an ARC or TIG welder. There is also a broad range of medium to long term effects that aren’t just temporary inconvenience, and permanent blindness. But yeah man, you do you. My comment was simply my own perspective. I’m not here to moralize about what you should, or shouldn’t feel.
