    Actually, a hot beverage makes you cool down in hot weather. I don’t do it myself though. People who do that usually use tea.

      I’ve seen and heard this repeated so often but I seriously struggle to believe it.

      Yeah sure it burns calories warming cold water up inside your body, but when you chug cold water on a hot day you can literally feel it inside you cooling you down.

      Drinking hot drinks on a hot day warms you up further because you’re holding a hot cup and sweating and steamy and basically purposefully making yourselt uncomfortable.

        You need to live in a dry climate for it to work. The increased sweating more than makes up for the added heat from the tea.
