If you are offering assistance for me to improve how the bot runs feel free to DM me, but I am not keen to just hand over control to someone else who may not be here when things need changing or break.

It would also be nice if you could not disparage the bot we have. It may not be perfect, but as someone with absolutely no programming knowledge I have invested a huge amount of time figuring out how to get this far, with pretty much no help.

Sorry I’ve only just seen your reply, and I’m I no way dissing on the bot, you’ve done an amazing job, and yes I’m offering to help!

I’ll DM you (I’m very very experienced, but time poor because of my experience level)

I don’t think that person was disparaging botbot or you though, the efforts you’ve put in with your level of knowledge doesn’t necessarily negate the fact that running botbot off a laptop isn’t ideal either (people do take bots being hosted remotely and not going off on holidays for granted, it’s a bit like using Japan’s train system and then coming to Melbourne.)

Instantly assuming hostile behaviour and distrusting others isn’t warranted and feels defensive in my humble opinion. I know Botbot has come a long way, but if someone’s offering help (and has before, to no response), don’t you and botbot deserve it? Especially if botbot can move to a cheap hosted server, that way multiple people have access to it and you can go on holidays rather than being solely responsible. And we don’t need to look askew at MissMeow any more.

Full disclaimer, I’ve been in both positions before at work and I get that it stings.
