I think it’s pretty decent, but I’ve only watched the anime. Is the manga worth reading?

I appreciate that the plot has momentum. People come and people die, the dynamic keeps shifting. I don’t know if the story is actually going to end in 12 episodes, but it’s at least doing a great job of creating the illusion of rocketing toward an exciting ending.

I like the concept. The art style looks so good and MAPPA did a really good job bringing it to life. Action scenes are pretty great too.

The author also did a really good job with coming up with a shounen that doesn’t require a ton of backstory to understand character emotion and goals. Haven’t really seen a shounen that is this impactful in the short amount of episodes it aired in.

I think the anime has been a decent adaptation, but the manga obviously goes much further than the anime can in a single season.

I’m reading it in Japanese to practice, and it has been quite the challenge — a lot of Buddhist & Taoist language, concepts and terms to learn.

Worldbuilding is its best suit and the characters are generally well-writen. Obviously incomplete story. It’s not the pinnacle of the medium, but I liked it.
