Harsh truth, I don’t think his new album is as good as his old ones. Still nice to have fresh material out though!

I listened to the singles before, and only listened to the album while hanging out with my kid, so didn’t give it an honest listen.

Everything I’ve heard from it though just seems really generic. I love Jason Isbell. Southeastern and Nashville Sound are instant classics. Reunions got a little easy listening, but the songwriting is amazing. This new album seems like he’s tired of writing songs but made an album anyways.

I don’t know if you’re a Saving Country Music reader but I was pretty surprised to see Trig rate it as high as he did. He said it’s almost as good as Southeastern to him which is kind of crazy to me but maybe I need to listen to it more

I’ll have to give it a listen. So far I’ve only heard his single, Cast Iron Skillet from the SCM Playlist on Spotify and it was alright
