And then YouTube decides to get upset at people who block ads. Before there was even a paid option I just gave up on videos because the midroll ad made me forget what I was even watching. Or, I would be falling asleep to something relaxing and quiet, and then nearly shitting my pants because the world’s loudest ad began to play.
Maybe I should be thanking YouTube for convincing me to finally set up some serious ad-blocking on my whole network.
On Mac/Safari I use an extension called Vinegar that replace the YouTube player with the standard HTML5 player, meaning that Google is basically fucked.

Yeah OP, use uBlock Origin specifically. If you’re using your phone and it’s Android then you can get the extension on the Firefox app and use YouTube in your browser without ads. If you’re using an iPhone or a TV then IDK what to do though.

I don’t get ads. I get 4ndrew T4te and racist dog whistle videos in my suggestions. I only ever watch stuff from left-leaning creators.
