For me, it got to be DUSK. A Doom-like retro style shooter inspired by the greats of the time (Quake, Half Life, …) that perfectly emulates the strengths of the games, also visually and in overall art style, while bringing all of it to life with modern technology and game design.
Splitgate, it was super popular for a while and then people realised it’s a bit more difficult than they expected I guess. I am big fan of it because I like competetive FPS games, but also it having Linux native support makes me super happy.
Planetside 2 is still going on and they added anticheat support for Linux. I’ve been playing it pretty much daily lately, it’s a great substitute for Battlefield series and the fights can get massive and chaotic, which to me is fun lol.
Space Haven, where you create a spaceship and try to survive. It’s all isometric pixel goodness and it’s really deep, but doesn’t throw you in the deep end until you’re ready.
X4 Foundations, if you like space sims. It’s so, SO much better than Elite Dangerous. You can fly all kinds of ships, from really tiny ones to huge dreadnoughts. You can build stations, create manufacturing chains and big armies. It’s super cool to walk on the bridge of your huge ship while it’s in mid fight. And it has native linux support!
Plenty of others but right now my mind draws blank.

It puts you against bots. I wish they would name the bots as what they are, bots.
That is my biggest gripe with it.
I think that Planetary Annihilation Titans is an amazing RTS game with native Linux support (iirc)
Osu!
for me, it’s definitely Slaves to Armok II: Dwarf Fortress
imho it doesn’t get the attention it deserves…
