This author is clearly not someone that understands the appeal of a manual transmission. They are probably right though, as someone who drives a manual because its genuinely more fun to drive (except in traffic jams)… I seriously doubt that a fake shifter would produce the same effect.

Its like saying that paddle shifters and manual transmissions are the same. They aren’t.
