I get a downvote shower on Lemmy.ml when say things like “The European Union is an antidemocratic corporate cartel”. People really want to believe it’s a democracy despite only ever getting the join/leave/remain vote, and most of them will never even see that on their ballot.
Haha yeah, people get really upset when you point out that it’s an unelected bureaucracy that people of individual countries have no real control over.
This is why I made a euroskeptic community
Too bad the libs won’t get much exposure to that, it being on the grad. I don’t really mind fake internet demerits: if I weren’t getting any downvotes from the libs I’d be a tailist.
It’s funny that the SPD still tries to govern despite its imminent catastrophic collapse.
I’m not up on the details of German politics, what’s needed to trigger an election?
There’s an election planned for the second half of 2025, but people have been calling for a snap election. Government doesn’t want it because they’ve been cratering horribly.
if these clowns cling to power till 2025, RIP Germany
It’ll be dead no matter what. Most likely reverting back to Merkelism with a healthy dose of right wing nationalism in the AfD
You’re right, I don’t really see any path to sanity there either.
Unless you define sanity as repeating the same policy failures that led to this current moment, I will concur.
Which, of course, will make things worse.
I mean it’ll likely the last time the SPD will matter.
