I thought that goes without saying:
But this article isn’t about Taiwanese H1-B visa workers vs other H1-B workers, it’s about H1-B workers vs domestic workers. The fact that almost all those H1-B workers happen to be Taiwanese is a bit of a red herring.
H1-B visa workers are easier to exploit than citizens & permanent residents.
I had bought the dead tree copy but hadn’t gotten around to reading it. Then I saw how patsoc MWM was and decided that I wasn’t likely to get anything from it that I hadn’t already gotten from Parenti & Rockhill.
Rockhill and Radhika Desai had endorsed the book, which I think was why I bought it
Needlessly complicated, expecting you to be familiar with the subject matter before you read the book, and being an exercise in showing the reader just how much the author knows and has read.
That reminds me of how I found just the first page of Fredric Jameson’s Postmodernism, or, the Cultural Logic of Late Capitalism to be impenetrable. There wouldn’t be much point in my reading it now that I’ve come around to ML.
I abandoned every last bit of corporate social media about two years ago. The master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house. Their algorithms attenuate our agitations.
That sounds indistinguishable from every other Five Eyes country https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Master_of_Business_Administration

Crazy like a 狐狸. Russia is kind-of a capitalist shithole, and China is a (looooong) train ride away.
What’s up with Malawi?
🤷 Micronations tend to lack de facto sovereignty, so they often vote seemingly against their interests at the UN.
I’m going to go on a limb and guess that this is coming from a hexbearism. MLs don’t have a problem with critically engaging with media of any stripe, because we trust our theoretical framework to ground us. And I can’t speak for everyone, but I don’t put much stock in consumer politics, so I don’t go out of my way to deprive Rupert Murdoch of ad revenue.
Who does Forbes imagine it is talking to, and are they people who actually read Forbes?
Is this to be read by the people who hire contract/gig workers, and are they supposed to read it in a vicarious way, where they imagine themselves as a gig worker reading the article?
When voter turnout is this depressed, it is not due to apathy, but to disillusionment.
No investigation, no right to speak*, and yet: “they” tell me the “ground game” is important, which I think means that the mass of volunteer canvassers are important. Am I wrong to imagine that these volunteers tend to be on the young side?
How many young people did the Harris campaign think would be excited to volunteer for genocidaires?
This was the thought process that had me doubt a Harris victory, and I’d be interested to be able to compare the volunteer canvassing person-hours for each party in the last three pres. election cycles.
*I’m the furthest thing from a US electoralism expert, and not all the data is even not in yet never mind analyzed.
Wow, quality white-hot rant. I can’t stand TikTok aesthetics, but I made it through the whole thing.
but ohhh this is all a joke ofc :)
Schödinger’s joke gets the special hell, the one for insufferable adult tweens.
I can’t speak for OP, but I’m not worried about catching conservative cooties from conservative media.
I sure wouldn’t know: I was permabanned two months ago, by an admin who apparently was de-admined about a month ago 🤷
Now now, it takes a village of PMC idiots.
Do you want a color revolution? Because that’s how you get a color revolution.
No surprise then that the pure socialists support every revolution except the ones that succeed.
