For me, the thing that sets it a part is the fact that it has a 300 PPI screen, which is significantly more than the 226 PPI of the Remarkable, Supernote, and Onyx Boox. However, it looks like they’re missing a lot of features, like exporting / backup of notes and options for pen types and thicknesses. I’m curious how much Amazon will invest into developing the Scribe as a true note-taking and productivity tool, since right now it mostly seems like a large e-reader that happens to be come with a pen.

    The screen on the scribe is beautiful.

    That’s what I’ve heard too! And this is the biggest reason I was tempted to get it… but I think at this point I need to wait for there to be better writing tools available.

    Re the lit screen; is it not the same as the kindle where it’s just a optional lighting from the sides? Is it not able to be turned off?
