After spending way too much time and thoughts on it, I found peace in regarding it as a trick question.
There is no objective way to answer it. You may or may not find a subjective answer, or even several. It is both meaningless through ambiguity, and meaningful on a personal level. Because the way you answer it has everything to do with you. But there it stops. It won’t lead to any insights beyond “I believe …”, “In my opinion, …”.
It doesn’t matter, even if it makes any sense. Other questions, including related questions, are more meaningful and worthwhile, even useful. Examples:
What do I want?
How can I achieve it?
What makes me feel good?
These aren’t as shallow as they might seem at first glance, much as questions about life, the universe and everything aren’t as deep as they seem at first glance.
Maybe it is one example of “garbage in, garbage out”. A vague, ill defined question can use up lots of resources without providing any useful output. Similar questions with a clearer scope can lead to actual, tangible value.
