“Third Party” is a bit of clickbait. But the rumor is that they are looking to have 3rd party releases of certain content.
I hope that means that traditionally multiplatform franchises like Elder Scrolls continue to be multiplatform.
I don’t really care about the franchises that have always existed on Xbox. You kind of expect them to be there and maybe get some extra funding so they can double as system sellers. I guess it’s cool to have Halo on Playstation. Buy it’s not really an expectation anyone ever had.
What I’m curious about, is if that will impact their XBox sales, and therfore their GamePass sales. If I’m a customer buying one console and I can get access to both Xbox and PS games, and PS Plus is still an option instead of GamePass, that’s a no-brainer.
It almost sounds like Xbox wants out of the console business.
If it means getting a physical release of HiFi Rush, I’m down for that.
