Obviously that was eventually going to happen.
I was moderating c/news a little heavy out of respect for the lemmy devs and because it was being federated with lemmy.
For example I deleted a certain users comments because they were slightly racist. I took away her voice to make a space more comfortable for people that hate us. She clearly had problems and needed people to support her. She has since left the site.
I do not feel the need to do that anymore.
I hope everyone is having a good day.
I can still post on c/linux@lemmy.ml I think?
but yea if you pushed spotted lady away that’s a shame
ahhh, I’ve kind of already gone through this process many times over, it was probably only a matter of time, and maybe for the better that we got b&
even in the lemmy ml linux community sometimes the friction feels like it’s there, and we’re supposedly even talking about a “neutral” subject
on a positive note I was thinking of how little downtime we have had here compared to ruqqus which would give 404s and lagging now and then lol
You can post there, but the post will be rejected by lemmy.ml due to the blocklist. That means it will only be visible for other users on wolfballs.com.
oh interesting, then maybe the admin should block lemmy.ml back, shadowbanning is kind of distasteful to deal with
We will on the next deployment
probably for the best, all the lemmy.ml people did was come here and downvote or screech about “mIsInFoRmAtIoN”, I didn’t have much in the way of substantial discussion except for maybe like nutomic in this post and in another, and I did try to contribute to their posts over there (although there aren’t too many that came on to my feed worth posting on)
There’s a lot of new leftists that are simply intolerant unlike the old of maybe a decade ago, I grew up leaning a little left and with this tolerance and slowly over time kept experiencing lots of intolerance to the point where now I kind of pre-emptively avoid or ban lefty things from my life because while there are exceptions, it seems to be easier as a rule to just avoid them entirely (much more reliable).
Willing to work together on mutual goals but increasingly to me they are the problem (it wasn’t us who defederated first here but them, which is the same thing I’ve experienced IRL and online) so it does feel like a divide that’s almost better to pre-emptively nip in the bud by avoiding
I agree with all your points. The left is truly intolerant and increasingly morally reprehensible for many reasons. However they are really helping us grow.
We got a bunch of new users because they “defederated”. Their defederation post with wolfballs.com in the title was at the top of Lemmy for at least two days. Probably still is. Our post occasionally showing up on lemmies all category brought zero people here over a month. Just a few crazies to say " fuck you". Now we have notoriety . we are kinda officially the bad asses of the fediverse.
Being on the banned list on Lemmy.ml is just gonna bring more people here.
More and more people come here to see what the world is hiding from them and to experience freedom.
I think we should embrace it.
“any publicity is good publicity” kind of thing
