Does this server have a maximum file size for image uploads? I’ve encountered the following error when trying to post an image:

If a limit exists, is it set by Lemmy as a whole, or on a per-instance basis?

    When did you encounter this issue? I know there were some issues yesterday that TheDude fixed. May have been related to that. I would recommend trying again. Otherwise can you share what the size of the image you are trying to upload?

      Thanks for the reply! Just tried it again now and got the same result. File is a 7.2 MB jpg.

      Also, I’m trying to post on a feddit.de community from my sh.itjust.works account. Would that make a difference? I thought not, as my understanding is that the post would appear on sh.itjust.works first, and later be federated to feddit.de. Please correct me if I have misunderstood anything.

      Edit: Just tried uploading the same image to !test@sh.itjust.works with the same result, which makes me suspect it is a local issue, rather than an issue between servers.

      Edit2: Image upload size limit is 5 MB, per u/InEnduringGrowStrong.
