These shameless pieces of turds. What they do has far more reaching consequences then just a couple of wrong papers in important journals. When a scientist of “important standing” publishes a method which s/he deems as very successful for curing an important disease then a whole next generation of scientists might end up focusing on that because referees are more likely to allocate funds to such projects. This destroys other people’s careers, wastes millions of dollars and probably offsets cure for an important disease by decades.
