I am looking to get some more comfortable clothes for traveling and purchased a Merino wool T-shirt and boxer briefs (I’ve used Merino wool socks for a while already). Merino wool clothing is super expensive and I don’t want to spend upwards of $80 on a shirt. Do you have any recommendations for a frugal alternative?

Costco had a couple merino wool shirts last winter that I snapped up I think they were around $19. They sold out pretty quick, so hopefully they’ll bring them back this next winter. Of course, not cost effective if you don’t have a membership already

Thank you I’ll check them out. If you don’t mind my asking, why silk clothing? Silk boxers were the rage when I was in high school, but I wasn’t a fan except to sleep in

I just like silk for the texture, and I needed something that looked nice. They’re pretty lightweight, but they do wrinkle easily.

I sometimes run into some nice wool clothing in thrift stores located in upscale areas. You have to hunt for it, of course, but it sometimes pops up. It’s generally priced the same as the other clothing–which is very good for wool.

That definitely sucks. Still might be worth a try to see if something wooly snuck in. Esp. in summer.

Generally speaking, I get my best deals on warm clothes in summer. Even on Amazon, I once got a 0 degree down sleeping bag for hundreds off…in July.

I’m trying to find some merino wool, they’re really cool, almost like a tech blend, but don’t stink and are great for traveling since you can rinse and wash multiple times.
