I thought an anecdote was “not necessarily true or reliable, because based on personal accounts rather than facts or research.” Now that you’ve provided me with the correct definition about your uncle, it’s clear I was mischaracterizing this unreliable personal account unsubstantiated by facts or research as anecdotal.
