Between Postecoglou, Maddison, and Vicario, it looks like Spurs are actually cooking for a change. They also just properly signed Kulusevski.
During the managerial mess, I was super on board the Nagelsmann train, and when that fell through, I really got on board the Slot train the more I read about him. I never took the Big Ange possibility seriously.
Over the few weeks since Postecoglou’s announcement, I’m actually optimistic about this cursed club again. All the players and coaching staff gushing over him, all the trophy photos. The man’s mentality and passion are incredible, especially when contrasted with the negative associations that come with the club. I’m also excited to see what that means for Ryan Mason. I want to see fun football, and I want to see it done by teams that aren’t a feel-good propaganda arm of an oil kingdom.
I’d usually turn to /r/coys to have (or rather, to skim) this discussion, but I don’t plan on visiting any /r/ for a while
In the endless cycle of hope - excitement - disappointment - despair, every summer is comfortably hopeful for me. This time twice so, I really like all that’s coming from the club. Just today I read an article on The Athletic about Postecoglou’s staff, training etc., and while it’s always like that when a new coach arrives (players love training, hard work, are enthusiastic about the style of football), this time it feels more genuine.
Mainly it’s because Ange got a huge background of attacking football, it’s a given that he’s gonna play like that with Spurs. With Mourinho and Conte, it was always a stretch to expect anything too exciting.
I also miss r/coys 😞
There’s like three spurs communities here and they’re all pretty much dead. That said, I’m also super excited about Ange. The moves so far in the transfer window seem good too. Maddison was an awesome get. I’m hoping we see more moves to hint at what Ange is aiming to do with the club.
Between Spurs, LAFC, and the Mexican National Team … I need a team to be in good form 😅
