Yes, finally out of jail. I’m seeing some reports that they reduced the difficulty after player feedback. I guess “Hard” or whatever will be the original difficulty.

The accompanying Dragon Quest I & II announcement was a surprise. DQIII is the kind of game that could sell massively in Japan, so this is likely not the last we’ll see of HD-2D remakes.

Mostly newsworthy because Matsuno said last year there were no plans for it. The bigger news for me is Schreier saying down-thread that Naoki Yoshida’s team is on the project. I was concerned Asano’s might be, and I don’t want him anywhere near this.

I’d be deliriously happy with the Tactics Ogre Reborn treatment. A similarly arranged, orchestrated soundtrack is my #1 ask; I think this is still Sakimoto and Iwata’s best work, and the PSX audio doesn’t do the compositions justice. Additional animated cutscenes and additional dungeons/sidequests are probably not happening, but like in Reborn, high-quality voice overs and something small to mix up the gameplay or tweak the difficulty would be nice.

A lot of people succumbed to fear after 1992, especially the types like Ken Williams that were newly rich.

There’s a excellent, recent OJ Simpson documentary called Made in America that does a dive into 1990’s Los Angeles police culture and the riots. Highly recommended.

91 is a rather high score for PC Gamer, and they are usually hard on games for technical issues over there. Good sign for those of us that were waiting for a PC port.

About the same reaction I had. Loved the MC’s design but once I put it down for something else I ended up not picking it up again before having to return it to the library. Was planning on checking it out again until this version (and especially the PC port) got announced.

If it is a full remake, as suggested by both the Nvidia leak and these listings, we have no idea what it’s going to look like in comparison.

People that don’t like early 3D games with super low framerate and sluggish transitions are going to struggle with the original.

The Square Enix ones mentioned in the article are nothing earth-shattering–the Final Fantasy XVI PC port and what’s most likely the Final Fantasy IX remake. FF9 was part of the previous Nvidia leak.

It’s the typical end-of-generation lull right now, but even with that, the brand is broadly, wildly popular. The Switch is approaching the PS2’s sales record. Throw in all the money from MTX now and it’s surely the most profitable venture ever in traditional video games.

That’s precisely why Nintendo can afford to burn up goodwill with trash like this move.

That there are divisions and prejudice within the community. It’s better for everyone involved to put on a united front, but unfortunately people get put down and marginalized even in supposedly queer-friendly spaces all the time. In my own circles, it happens a lot with bisexual men and non-binary/gender non-conforming persons in particular.

Still the best implementation of ATB they ever did.

Someone pointed out that there’s quite a few MC voice lines here, and that’s a big wildcard for me. I thought Alix Wilton Regan absolutely knocked it out of the park as my Inquisitor, so that’s a high bar to clear.

Ultimately it’s going to come down to the cast, though. Won’t know until I get my hands on it.

I believe them when they said it was just not in their budget. This already was their largest Persona in terms of voiced character lines, much less all the other development that would go into the option. Disappointing for sure, but I’m not at all surprised.

I genuinely don’t think we’re seeing her in a future DLC or re-release.
