This was two posts down from a very funny video showing that you can get any result from a poll. Before I even read the numbers I was like “People, government, and violence-enacting groups are not the same” ie I can relate to (sympathize with) being a citizen of an occupying regime, even to being part of the occupying force, without agreeing with the overall agenda of the regime in charge. Maybe I’m empathizing instead of sympathizing, but I see most people who take polls on a CBS site (another obvious flaw here) will also sympathize (or empathize) that direction.
Then I read the numbers. They are abysmal. Still, I’d like to see a poll that is more fairly worded. A poll that constructs the opposite perspective in its audience would be amusing too.

I personally cannot distinguish satire from reality. And no, it’s not because I’m credulous, but because every day incredible things happen. I don’t need fake headlines that are just as crazy as the real headlines.
Just so long as we don’t put them on “reserved” land that we shrink every year or two until we suddenly decide that we want to take it back etc. I think it would be just grand to get a bunch more Palestinians in Palestine! For Americans, anyway. Immigrants are good for the economy. The Palestinians themselves might have better luck elsewhere.

The only time I found toxic content was in a dog sub, and the majority there was harshly against the breed currently begging me for belly rubs.

Yeah, police are the enforcement tools of the owner class, designated extra privileges to give them the impression that they’re somehow distinct from the proletariat. They’d have too much power even without unions. Listen to politicians who urge corrupt cops to stay on payroll because of literally getting the “rotten apple” metaphor backwards. I’m not really sure how you can judge some unions good or bad, when ACAB is a fact. Just, get rid of the police and leave this hypothetical to historians.
But even the prequels are speaking directly to Lucas’s feelings about Bush-era politics and the erosion of democracy, where the originals straight up talked about Nam and WWII. Idk, I guess I could understand the Andor hate if I hadn’t had a lot of years of people trying to make Star Wars be about the space swords. No cohesive plot, no commentary, no thought provocation, just one cool moment with a space sword leading to the next cool moment with a laser gun. Andor was like “hold my beer.” So refreshing.
Two of those images are definitely tomato-flavored sugar. I’ll understand people not enjoying raw tomato, but at least make homemade sauces and soups from canned tomatoes as much as you can. Then you can enjoy your fries with tomato-flavored sugar free of guilt.
