I also assume that kids shoes don’t last as long, though. There is no reason to build them to last.

How slow would that windows box be with the minimum specs? That seems like it would be a nightmare.
Linux on the other hand will run on anything and it’s glorious!
This seems like lazy, irresponsible journalism to me. If the protests aren’t interesting from a distance, get out there and interview people. Ask them for their stories and tell them! Otherwise they’re just telling the protesters they need to be violent to get attention.
I agree with you if press coverage is there. They’re not covering the protests because they’re not interesting, though.
That said, I’d call this lazy journalism. How about going out there to interview people? Start telling the stories of the people they talk with?
If true, this is a huge step! Congrats to China!
“Strategic stamina” is something that the US used to have but which has disappeared as the country just tries to catch its breath.
SCOTUS already said that’s off the table in Trump v. United States. This will not impact Trump directly, only his accomplices.
While I agree, who is going to do the prosecution? The DOJ is compromised.
Good thing they have a $50B endowment to fall back on. Not all schools have that. Here’s hoping that Harvard fighting back leads to some kind of positive change.
This is an astoundingly stupid idea. What other program delivers more value for everyone who develops or uses technology than the CVE program?
What is the motive here? It seems like such a stupendously moronic move and so precisely targeted that there must be a motive. Make life easier for Russian hackers?
What an astoundingly stupid idea. I can’t think of many programs that deliver more value per dollar for everyone who develops or uses technology than the CVE program. This administration keeps raising the bar for stupidity.
So, there are a few of scenarios here:
The most likely option, while less scary than #1 and #2 is still supremely frightening. They are simply removing due process from the process. It is just a process now without any due diligence involved.
Here’s the thing that really scares me. The laws are still on the books and will likely remain so, but this signals to all of the companies who hate these laws that they’re not going to be enforced for at least four years. So, they can go nuts for the next four years because DOJ won’t enforce shit, even if SCOTUS tells Trump he’s a bad boy.
I’m not sure that Elon is feeling that much pain. His investors are, but he’s so rich he barely notices. That, or it might be the ketamine.
So, the teriffs will also cause Amazon deforestation to accelerate as land is clear cut to grow soy beans.
I don’t think that’s it. I think that this article is missing the point. Trump is manipulating the market in the most blatant of ways. He is intentionally crashing the market, telling people who listen to him when to sell and when to buy, then recinding the order that crashed the market.
He literally posted on truth social today to say that it is a great time to buy. Then, four hours later he rescinded the teriffs.
He is not caving to Wall Street. He is aiding insider trading at the largest scale ever seen.
Why the fuck has no one been doing this for every single nominee since Jan 20th?
Trump doesn’t give a shit about anyone but him. They just cut $55M intended to fund training for rural teachers (because who wants educated educators?) and now he wants to spend more than that on a mile long military parade celebrating his birthday. And it’s not even a milestone birthday, just a birthday.
From the article, Trump wanted to do something similar but, presumably smaller, in his first term but backed off after the price tag came to $92M. He instead opted for an event that ONLY cost $13M. How much do you think this one will cost? What will get cut to fund it?
Fucking narcissistic traitor… He’ll probably figure out how to grift a few tens of millions from this by selling tickets, too.
Sorry, the hostility wasn’t really aed at you. It was more intended to be aimed at the media. I’m just a little tired of people believing that protests weren’t happening before now. They were happening but the media wasn’t covering them.
Finally what? Finally the media is covering the protests that have been going on the entire time? They’re growing but they weren’t small even a month or two ago.
They’re coming for OSHA next, I bet.
