10·11 days agoWell Im imitating Norse period tablet woven patterns, though Im unsure if they’d match any archeological finds exactly since Im not trying to be super period accurate. The tunic and leg wraps are Norse as well, but Im not well versed on the historical accuracy of their cut/style.
Tablet weaving itself has been around for much longer, back to at least the 800s bc afaik so its not specific to any one culture, but im definitely trying to emulate a viking style of dress.

belt time
Heres the whole belt, its about 56in/1.4m in length, which is on the shorter side of my belts, but since I used some of the lenght to make trimmings for my tunic’s cuffs it makes sense. It works fine as a belt as well, not too short or long.

Heres the back, non-reversible unfortunately but thats not a big deal.
And here it is with my tunic. I love the way it matches with the trim, it works perfectly. It works better with the black tunic vs just the white one, but together they work best since the trim is on the white one. Most of my belts are going to be presents for Yule but I’m keeping this one for myself.
(inappropriate use of a penannular brooch here, but it holds really well and looks nice)

Last monday we had to say goodbye to my sweet old lady Lexi after almost 20 years. Every day I come home from work and I expect her to come up to me screaming for food or begging for pets and it hits me all over again.
Nope, sorry. I dont really know anyone else who weaves, Im not active in any circles I just work on my own. And as far as tablet weaves go I dont know of any stores on etsy that sell anything with pride themed patterns either.
There are a lot of pride themed patterns on https://twistedthreads.org/, like this one, or you can just modify the colors of a pattern you like, but tablet weaving is a lot of effort for something thats gonna be as small as a lanyard.

I could not disagree less. There was a ton of tension after that lol. That scene literally sets the tone for the film, it makes it more tense.
And you would be wrong but thats ok
Its definitely the weakest between it, The Lighthouse and The Northman, but it was still really good. It was way better than I was expecting honestly.
