This is good context, thanks for sharing that. I guess it’s kind of like Annie Lennox covering “No More I Love Yous” in a full on album of cover songs. Knowing that it wasn’t Johnny Cash thinking he could do a better job than Trent Reznor makes it much more palatable.
It still sucks though? If he had anything meaningful to say he works have written a new hit song. Who gives a fuck who produced an album anyway? Like somehow that means it’s good?
I just can’t shake the feeling that the only way Johnny Cash COULD find any relevancy was to cover am edgy song. The Johnny Cash version just sounds like an old man trying to be cool, it’s really lame.

I agree with you, ownership is more nuanced than threat of violence. And threat of violence is more nuanced than power and control. If somebody tried to take your blanket, then you may be inclined to report it to the police, and men with guns would show up at his house and take it back for you. That doesn’t make you an oppressor.
1·4 months agoI lived in NYC for a while and I never got a cart, but I would go to the store pretty much every day and get smaller loads, like one or two bags. But watermelons always harshed my mellow.
If they could commit to just five seasons it could be a really good show, but if they plan to try to keep it going and milk it, it’ll be complete garbage by season 3

61·4 months agoMusk and Jobs are/ were highly effective psychopaths. Not geniuses in an academic sense but incredibly shrewd and calculated.
Gates, Bezos, Zuck, Page and the likes are very intelligent and very confident. Like I wouldn’t be able to one up any of them in a debate, but I wouldn’t be afraid of them trying to destroy my life out of spite.
You are correct. It IS sympathy. Sympathy acknowledges the situation. Empathy acknowledges their feelings, more like “I can imagine how this situation makes you feel.”
Also, nearly everyone survived
They’re all like that. For some reason trying to make the men out as bad people… When nothing really happened. Wish people could try to appreciate women’s contributions without trying to diminish men’s contributions or create a false narrative.
