  • Everytime I hear someone say “acshually abstraction is good” I think that while a lot of it is miraculous software engineering, at the end of the day we have near limitless computational power and everything runs like shit.

    Edit: I spent a few weeks at my laat job making my code run with memory constraints in ming and my boss kept insisting we could just run it in a bigger aws instance. It wasn’t that hard to get it to work within the constraints and now there’s no danger that one day it’ll crash because of an unexpectedly larger dataset. Idk why the expectation is we be lazy with this stuff
