Oh no! Such sad news. We owe him so much.

The problem is not access, it’s unlimited instant access. We had to wait until our parents weren’t home to raid Dad’s stash. Or catch a tape from someone’s uncle at a sleepover. It’s a world of difference.
That being said, blocking is not the answer. Blocking the major sites just pushes people to smaller sites, which may be more likely to harbor revenge porn, underage content, nonconsensual content, etc.
Is it normal for housecats to spend time outside? I have two. One is fully indoors, the other goes out 2-3 times per week, for maybe a half hour, and doesn’t venture past our back patio. No hunting that I’m aware of, and definitely no pooping in the neighbor’s garden.
Since you mentioned ssh and vi(m), I’ll throw out vimwiki. No Android app, unless you count termux, and there’s a bit of a learning curve, but idk, it really clicks with me.
This is great. I honestly hadn’t given the downvote thing much thought. The bit about promoting discussion really hits it home. Tell me why you don’t like it!
It reminds me of restaurant reviews. I eat at Chili’s pretty regularly, and if you pay on the little tablet kiosk thing (Ziosk?), it wants you to complete a survey. If things were great, I do the survey. But if they were bad, or even just fine, I skip. I’ve heard too many tales of disciplinary action being taken on non-five-star reviews, which just kills the whole point. Do you want my honest opinion, or do you want a yes-man?
Back to the piece, it’s a great write-up. Though I do want to point out that you used “apart” instead of “a part” at least twice. 🙂
But don’t worry, the XMPP article linked at the bottom has way more errors.
Wow, that’s amazing! Is it a mini from a game?
As an old man who has clocked 150 hours, yes, it will. :)
Obviously we’re different people, but my silver bullet was 300mg Wellbutrin. (150mg did nothing.)
I have ADHD that doesn’t respond to stimulants, so my doc tried Wellbutrin. Didn’t touch my ADHD, unfortunately, but I haven’t had a violent outburst in years. Last night, I dropped a piece of lasagna on the kitchen floor and reacted with a “goddammit,” instead of the tantrums I’ve had in the past. So much nicer.
My 3rd gen Moto G had a removable back and was also water resistant. Though I don’t think it had a removable battery.
Ahh, good times. One of my earliest uses of the web circa 1996 was Invisiclues for Zork II. I didn’t have access at home, so I had to play until I got stuck, then look up the answer at school the next day.
I can’t play a bare Switch for more than 15-20 minutes without pain, but with a Satisfye asymmetric grip, I can play for hours. Not a shill, just a huge fan of the product. :)
