Oracle Cloud has a very generous free tier that includes outgoing data and multiple VMs.
Is there a reason we can’t see ml c/technology from hexbear? Are we able to defederate from specific communities?
“Justifying your absurdity using hivemind baiting tactics may work on Reddit, but this is Lemmy.”
It’s actually good when literally everyone else in the room is calling me a fucking idiot and hoping I shut up because that makes it a hivemind, proving my argument correct. This person is totally not a debate pervert.
I find it rough playing versions before 24 now that positional play is finally a working mechanic in the game when it really should have been 10 years ago, but I’m still down.
I’m tentative on 25 given how slow progress is made on these games (They’re generally amazing games, don’t get me wrong) and I find it hard to believe they’ll be able to convert to a whole new engine and deliver an equivalent or improved experience in just one year, but also I’m terribly addicted and will probably buy it as soon as the beta drops.
I’m in an Asian timezone.
The gegenpress struggle session approaches
I had my first appointment recently and the doctor asked me if I’m frequently distracted or have a lot of unneccesary information in my head and at the time I was focused entirely on why I can see a fake statue of liberty through the window behind them sat in a parking lot.
Hey so just to follow up on this.
I went to Takedao and I have some photos that I need to scrub of data, but i’m not sure if it fits into urbanism?
There’s about five buildings there total and the train station is INSIDE the mountain tunnel. You access it through two sets of stairs attached to the side of the mountain.
I did walk down the old train tracks which are now a hiking path, very cool, many bugs.
Are there are downsides to AlmaLinux? From my research it seems like one of the best all-round options but I never see it recommended in discussions like this, unlike Ubuntu which has actual privacy concerns and is owned by a for-profit.
I share the feelings of soyviking in their comment. They put it into words better than I could.
There was a thread on reddit /r/games 1-2 months ago about a few neonazi dogwhistles being found during development of a life is strange sequel.
The evidence was clear - Anyone who has seen these symbols before knows that one is suspicious, multiple in the same place is undeniable proof something is up.
I checked it before falling asleep and the thread was packed full of comments denying there’s anything wrong with these symbols, it’s virtue signalling to complain about them, that people taking issue with them are in urgent need of therapy, at worst it’s all just a coincidence.
And then a bunch of weird nerd types whose main takeaway from “The Wire” was somehow that its cool to swear repeatedly when investigating a murder scene and any racist memes that reference the same line are therefore A-OK!!!
By the time I woke up the thread had been cleared and only more reasonable discourse remained, so there is some decent moderation on the hellsite, but I recognised it as the same pattern I see in a bunch of other places such as sports subs - the moment a divisive topic comes up the thread is flooded with transphobia and xenophobia or just straight up nazi shit, and attempt to argue back will be drowned out by 10s of other comments from fresh accounts or ones with no history in that community.
No real point here, just living up to it’s well deserved reputation.
I’m super impressed by how well tofu cheese (almost always silken tofu with a bit of processing similar to how you mentioned) does a better job of melting consistently than the non-vegan equivalent.
So often I would try to make cacio e pepe and all the cheese would seperate out and become unworkable. Tofu cheese has made Italian-style cooking so much easier, tastier and healthier.
Yes, definitely will do.
I’ve taken the JR line through Takedao to it’s endpoint before (kinosaki onsen) and there’s a few cities inbetween, as well as a lot of property development in the Sanda area, although I think this targets motorists and those commuting to the Kobe area more.
Are buses in Osaka as terrible as I think they are? Aren’t they like every 30 minutes or worse on most routes?
Only caught buses on the edge of Osaka but I presume they’re the same throughout. Pretty small and don’t come often. Anytime I take a bus in Japan I’m kind of frustrated a train wouldn’t have worked instead.
Have you ever been to the model train cat cafe?
Yes actually! It was cool. I went when it was max capacity and some of the people were very into playing and being close with the cats so it was difficult to get time with them but still worth going.
Have you ever been to 武田尾駅? Gods I want to go there.
This is super interesting. Is there any specific appeal besides the design and the hiking path nearby? I could go this weekend if the weather is good.
If I was to ever go to Kansai what would be a hidden attraction that I should see?
Before I would have recommended the myoken-no-mori funicular, but sadly it stopped running last year. There’s another inbetween Kyoto and Osaka I haven’t visited yet. I might have more answers if I think about this one for a bit.
this is actually a Kita-Osaka Kyuko 9000 series
I knew that some Hankyu trains run on Osaka metro lines where they share service but not about this, interesting. I looked them up and theres a few way they differ but you can tell they’re originally Hankyu stock.
Close enough. The Hankyu-Hanshin line covers a huge area.
I find it interesting the Hankyu line has this welcoming old-fashioned aesthetic but the Hanshin line resembles a metal tube, closer to an inner city metro style despite being part of the same company.
There’s probably some commentary here about the socio-economic status and reputation of the areas each one serves but I’ve met people who vastly prefer the Hanshin style and whenever I’ve tried to have that discussion before people start sprouting the WILDEST shit so I’ve been avoiding it.
Same. Hate to openly dox myself but didn’t expect to see pictures of my local train line posted on hexbear today.
The best solution we have is reducing animal agriculture, not finding new and creative ways to exploit other animals instead. Amazon deforestation is also trending down now Bolsonaro is gone, although I don’t claim to have much knowledge here.
Ultimately I don’t trust the animal exploitation industry to provide solutions to problems caused by the animal exploitation industry.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Judo are your friends.
My favourite cookbook - Vegan Chinese Kitchen - https://theplantbasedwok.com/the-cookbook/
On the theory side of things I recommend Kenji’s the food lab. It’s an omnivores book with a lot of meat content but the theory content is top notch and I still check it regularly.
Recommend learning as much as you can about South Asian food and the protein variety, there’s so many types of legume, fungi and vegetables in use that you’ll build up a massive knowledge of meat alternatives.
Also any country with a Buddhist background, especially China. You’ll find long histories of people living vegan lifestyles.
After I applied for paternity leave I got told my contract would not be renewed and then shortly after that my leave was being rejected because my non-renewal makes me ineligible.
I spoke to a lawyer and very quickly my leave was suddenly approved.
Fuck these guys, apply for unfair dismissal, get back on mental health leave, whatever you have available to you.
