I mean trials in absentia are super common, including in Western democracies. If you’re confident you can prosecute but unable to detain the defendant, then you can still try them without them being physically present.

Jesus, it’s that late in the month already?
Wipe is confirmed for August according to Nikita on Tarkov TV last week. Could very well drop before then, knowing BSG though.
Admittedly I’m not in the UK anymore, but I struggled with this years ago as well (when I did live in the UK). Drop the whole pack in and sear it off on each side (just as you would a steak), then break it up once it’s seared nicely on all sides. I find this helps.
From Denmark, lived in the UK (SW London/Surrey outskirts) for a number of years, now back home.
It feels like a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I agree - I was definitely more of a lurker on reddit than a massive contributor (14 years, <30k karma), but I loved how there was always a relevant subreddit for even fairly niche interests. I miss that on the fediverse - but at the same time, I’m hopeful that the fediverse will, in time, gain wider attention. I don’t miss the low quality content, but I miss the sheer volume of content, and with careful curation of subreddits, managing the signal to noise ratio was easy enough.
I mean, they could probably still serve ads disguised as content - just send it along with the “genuine” posts without differentiating. That said, at least I can block their content from showing in my feed if I want to.
I’m all for it.
Seems to me you’re handling it the best way possible - yes, re-using open source code without proper attribution is an unfortunate mistake, but you’ve also clearly explained the reasons it happened. I also understand why the original code author reacted very strongly; when code is stolen maliciously and with intent, it’s a huge “fuck you” to the original authors, who have freely released their code on the basis that they receive attribution of their use.
Good to see you’ve subsequently made up, and the code can stay. Thanks for being transparent, @ernest!
Erdoğan is clearly a moron, but the article is dated January 2022. Why is this in worldnews?
