School Zone speed is 15km/h (9mph) in the Netherlands, which is totally reasonable considering all the kids that can and will run on the street. You can usually just avoid those streets and most 30km/h streets (standard speed in neighborhoods).

The fields themselves are too soft/muddy for heavy machinery (and cows!).

In the Netherlands this is almost completely caused by farmers (that are overrepresented in the water boards) which keep the groundwater level low for better yields. This obviously backfires during the summer when the levels get too low.

I had the same problem with lemmy.world. Turns out I just had to click the link in the confirmation email which ended up in my spam. After that logging in works fine.
