  • Well that was… weird.

I saw several alleged videos of russian frontline units pledging their support for Prigozhin. Combine that with how little resistance wagner faced and Putin might have realized how weak his position is and given in to replacing MOD staff. Not a good look the same day he declared Prigozhin a traitor and promised punishment.

Trading the long-term stability for the short-term. Because now every aspiring russian warlord know that if you don’t like something about the state, all you need is just a big enough private army to bully the kremlin, lol.

  • Been following it since yesterday when it kicked off. Events so far:

    1. Wagner claimed that russian army shelled their base yesterday. The verdict is still open on that one.
    2. Supposedly this action, plus previous grievances, made ️Prigozhin decide to leave ukraine and enter Rostov in Russia. Rostov is a oblast capital and major military HQ for the invasion forces.
    3. The claimed mission was to punish the ministry of defence.
    4. Wagner captured Rostov with little to no resistance. And also drive towards Voronezh, another oblast capital.
    5. While army personnel are ordered to block wagner, they seem to either join them or let them pass without a fight at nearly all points.
    6. Russian air forces did engage wagner, and wagner seem to have downed several aircraft.
    7. Wagner also enter Voronezh unopposed, or bypass it on their way to moscow.
    8. Putin declares this a rebellion and treason, ask soldiers not to join wagner, and will respond with military action.
    9. ️Prigozhin and wagner bloggers seem to reject putin and some are now starting to call it a civil war. Possibilities of negotiation are looking very unlikely now.
    10. Russian helicopters are bombing oil/fuel depots in Voronezh to prevent wagner from using them. As well as threatening to blow bridges to moscow to slow wagner’s advance.

  • Oh nice, I actually hadn’t noticed that they added coop. I could certainly use an extra hand right now as I’m just stuck on playing whack-a-mole with the remnants of the war-in-heaven losers. So much border gore, closed borders, and million tiny fleets everywhere unexpected and recapping their territory. This was the part I didn’t miss, and why I’ve never finished a game :)

  • I have an old cheap smartphone that I have wanted to replace for many years now. But any time I check the market it has been mostly more boring phones bloated with features and hardware that I care nothing for. The only thing that actually has me a bit excited are foldable or rollables, though I’m stuck in a endless “just wait one more generation” loop. I am gonna have to break it soon.

  • My favourite contractors mod is actually PMC, which I didn’t list in the post. PMC makes the gunplay and movement far more realistic and methodical, which is more my thing. It requires you to use semi-auto at medium distances, bullet are actually physical, guns have sway, and body armor actually plays a big role.

Played a bit of pavlov before I discovered contractors mods, but it didn’t scratch the same itch.

  • Vehicle simulators are definitely enhanced by VR. Haven’t tried Flight sim yet. Needed a better PC before taking that plunge, though I do have that now but have yet to try it.

Played some racing and truck sim at one point which was also very enjoyable. Though that requires extra bulky hardware which I don’t have a permanent place for atm.

Moss is a fairly simple game, but the VR perspective makes it interesting enough for the short duration. One of the first I played which opened my eyes to how much as simple as a new perspective can provide even if you’re still controlling it like a flat controller game.

  • Yes the fact that many people are blocked from access by their very biology is a real shame, and a big barrier that VR might never cross.

Have read that most can overcome it with short sessions until the discomfort disappears, but that is still a big ask and might not work on all.

Then there’s us who just doesn’t experience it. I can put myself right into what should be the most vomit inducing display and not feel a thing. Wonder what makes my brain ignore inconsistencies between visual input and inner ear.
