It looks different for me - I didn’t want to go back, so I just installed Reddit Enhancement Suite and the old.reddit redirect and disabled my ad blockers for it, and sure enough it looks like garbage now so it’s easy to remember not to use it.

Google search results are really bad, but it’s worth a moment to consider how good your search results would be if as much money rode on gaming you as rides on gaming Google.

I’m assuming that they understood that, because they said (I assume pejoratively) that they sounded like a “can’t be racist against white people” leftist. If they had failed to notice the sarcasm, they would be taking the sarcasm at face value and seeing a pro-male, “all lives matter” type take

A good refinement of this advice is to keep a Q&A sheet in your Dropbox or in Google Sheets or something, because writing down your answers that you discover can help you remember them, and can provide a backup plan in case you forget the answer and need it later, and can remind you to circle back to a question later when your toolkit is bigger.

Edit: also, it helps manage your backlog - you can make a rule like “if the unanswered count ever gets to ten, I’ll sit down with an experienced user and try to clear them all”

That bothered me less than whenever some thread got successful and a mod decided that their input deserved to be viewed as the top comment, so they pinned it to the thread. 95% of the time those comments had nothing to do with reddit moderation, just a normal comment that wouldn’t have even been upvoted if it hadn’t been made in sudo mode.
