Biden knew it wouldn’t pass thats the point. Hes been in office for long enough to know how these things work. He still promised it!

      Heads up:

      A plan isn’t a promise. It’s just a proposal to enact policy.

Whey one rewrites a narrative in this way, accusing him of having made a “promise” and then breaking it- one is essentially creating a boogeyman that allows them to show him in a light that favors a clearly biased agenda.

But don’t worry his plan is going to succeed this time! Lol also why does this only come up during an election. If you guys are too dumb to understand that Biden is just using you people as votes I can’t help you. I see right through the BS specially after 4 years!

Again, there is no record that I am aware of where Biden ever said “I promise… [THING].”

You’re creating a straw man by purposefully misinterpreting and misrepresenting the difference between a proposed policy and a promise.

And this will remain true regardless of how many you tube videos you post of people calling it a “promise.” This is a poor argument. You really should abandon it.

Lastly, be very careful with the “dumb” accusations. There are rules here. You may want to reword that.

Again. It wasn’t a promise. It was an initiative. It was a plan to enact policy. All politicians propose policy. This is not abnormal. He never promised, nor did he guarantee results. He simply said he intended to do what he can to refuse the debt.

It was also very publicly blocked by conservatives.

Stop making it into something it isn’t.

Lastly of course- I warned you about being civil.

The difference is you are ok with mediocracy. Im not, if you run a campaign on a promise you pull through. Its like a job interview you lie about your qualifications and get the job. I want that guy fired, you are ok with it.

Again… it wasn’t a promise. How many times does this need to be made clear to you? And it’s not like a job interview where he lied because he didn’t lie.

Do you seriously need the concept of what presidents and lawmakers do explained to you?

They don’t promise anything. Ever. Becasue that isn’t how this works.

You’re hell-bent on this agenda to frame him as a liar using this as an example where there are probably a shit ton of better examples where he actually was proven to have lied!

                  This is bad faith.

I have explained this to you, and you continue to side-step the point in favor of continuing on with your rhetoric.

                  I won’t entertain this further.

Biden tried to do it and was blocked by Republicans. That is somehow evidence that Republicans should be given more power?

Maybe Republicans need to stop being such predictable boogey men then if Biden so easily manipulated them to his advantage. What Republicans should have done to mess with Biden was to not block it.

No, he very much did everything he could to push it through. He did not know during the presidential run if Republicans would have enough seats to block it.

This man has been in politics since 1970 and you think he doesnt know how things work. I thought you had more confidence in this man. No shit the opposite party is going to block him, but a great president like OBAMA was able to get healthcare for everyone just like he promised.

              1. When he made his intentions clear there were also seats in the house and Senate being voted on, it was not guaranteed the Republicans would have a majority.

              2. For those having difficulty following NastyNative’s argument, here is a handy flow chart:

I believe we are following the far right branch.

Biden has a mechanism written into law that allows the Department of Education to cancel student debt. He could relieve trillions in student debt in less time than it took to make that flowchart. He could do it right now. He won’t because he doesn’t want to.

Instead, he chose to use a method that could be easily blocked by the courts. Why? So he could throw his hands up and still have blue maga claim he tried his damnest, but was thwarted by le ebil Republicans. Your boy is a fucking Republican. He’s the same fucking dude that made sure student debt could not be discharged during bankruptcy. He never wanted to do it, but he found a nice way to win over some white PMC Democrats strattled with student debt.

Dems would rather lose and blame Republicans than implement progressive policy because their donors will replace them with people who won’t implement progressive policy. They will use whatever “parliamentarian said no” invocation so long as you keep buying it.
