Relevant “Redditors LARPing as h4x0rz News” comments that I’d like to share here:

Sadly, there’s a reason the “Gaza tourniquet” had to be invented. https://glia.org/pages/the-glia-tourniquet-project

    Spot on.

Genocide requires proving intentionality. Specifically, the deliberate intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a protected group. This is a serious and complex standard, and it’s central to the legal definition.

Ah, as usual the esoteric concept of “intentions”.

It’s convenient, isn’t it? I’m full of Good Intentions®, and nobody can prove otherwise because guess what, nobody knows what’s inside my head! So by “intentions” it’s damn easy to subvert the legal and moral principle of presumption of innocence to pat harmful individuals and entities (like the state of Israel) causing harm.

Try instead look at responsibility, effect, and the info available at hand when the decisions were taken. When you do it, even if you keep the principle of presumption of innocence (as it’s sane by itself), you can’t look at the state of Israel and say that is should get a free pass.

so was the dam-busters [SIC] raid by england [SIC - United Kingdom] in ww2 against nazi germany also “genocide”? or were they both just “warfare”

    Typical whataboutism. But let’s bite.

I don’t know if I’d consider Operation Chastise genocide or not. Probably leaking into genocide territory. Even then, the target was industrial operations supporting the war, not just “let’s get rid of the Germans” like SoI is clearly doing.

There’s video clips of military leaders and Netanyahu being very clear about their genocidal intent. The only ones not calling it a genocide are paid to say that.

Plus ignorant fucks parroting what those people being paid say.

So yes, I agree with you on this. What I’m going to say is mostly focusing on a single detail.

There’s video clips of military leaders and Netanyahu being very clear about their genocidal intent.

The trick here is that there’s no record of the intent itself, as this is impossible. There’s only videos of what Nazinyahu and the military leaders say. As such if we focus on intent there are multiple ways to distort what they say to claim that it was something else, or say that it was forged, or shit like this.

So I think that it’s simpler to look at their responsibility, their actions, the outcome of those actions, and the professed knowledge. Unlike intent those things are fairly objective, and more than enough to call out their genocide.
