This is honestly the first time I’ve seen pretty much anything about it.

Whatever happened to “Trump is making the rest of the world respect America again!”?

Convenient time to suddenly start not caring about what other people think, right when people start telling you exactly how they feel about the felon king.

One can not value others opinions of them and not want to he disrespected at the same time. No contradiction.

Why would anybody respect you if you don’t value their opinions? Honest question. Would you really want to be friends with someone like that?

Why would you respect someone, and does that respect require them to care how you feel?

Respect has nothing to do with friendship and you can hate someone and respect them at the same time. In the adult world I suppose.

I’ve never said trump is making the rest of the world respect America again. I don’t think trump is a good person for America, but I sure as shit don’t care what non-americans think

Ok, then what about censoring the american protests?

If you search for January 20th March, all of the google results are from small local papers. The big boys didn’t pick it up, or if they did, they mentioned it and moved on.

You mean apart from the bigotry and hate?

Because there’s also the “how dare you care about your child more than people you aren’t personally responsible for!” thing.

There is no bigotry or hate, just a lack of empathy from the person I’m replying to. It sucks what’s happening to their son, but what’s happening in gaza is 10x worse by any metric.

No, a lack of empathy is telling someone they should care less about their own child’s life being at risk, and who cares because they’re trans, than people on the other side of the world.

That is about as unempathetic as you can get. And I’m amazed you don’t realize it.

The premise that parent puts forward is that I should be OK with genocide as long as his kid is ok. That’s unemphatic. By any metric of the situation, one issue is far more important and extreme than the other.

They said nothing of the sort. That’s just a lie.

And no, by any metric of the situation, a person’s child is far more important than anything else in their life. Or should be. Because that child didn’t ask to be born. They are owed everything.

And in this case, this child’s life is in danger because of a genocide of trans people that is already well underway and that you apparently don’t give a shit about. I guess there’s only one genocide that matters.

And what exactly have you done about it other than berate people for caring more about their own children than they do the genocide in Palestine? Because I spend hours each week contacting politicians for JVP. Before I escaped on Monday with my own queer child (who you probably think I should also not care about), the staffers at Larry Buschon’s regional office were sick of me going there twice a month.

Have you done anything other than sit on your ass and tell people not to care about their kids?

You need to go through the entire thread.

This guy is saying we should’ve left the gazans to their fate in exchange for his child’s gender identity.

Also trans people are not being genocided. They are not being chased in the streets and killed, nor are they being rounded up in camps, nor are there bombs getting dropped in their gathering places. What’s happening to gazans is genocide, what happened to the rhoyinga is genocide. When shit gets even close to that level, then it’s genocide.

Non Americans think the same thing Americans do. That Traitorapist Trump is a narcisstic buffoon not worth your attention. That he is a notorious Liar who is going to lie 30000+ times in the next 4 years like his average last time. And that he is going to throw food on the wall at the White House an average of 1-2 times per week like his average last time.
