I know there’s a nest very close by, in my garden, from the poop i clean up. I’ve never seen a baby out and about until now. Should i just leave it there?

Yes that’s a youngster that’s probably fallen out of the roost. I doubt it’ll survive without getting back, which it probably won’t be able to do itself. You say you’re in Italy yes? Where abouts? I can see if any of my contacts here in the UK know who could help.

P.s. some species of bats carry rabies so at the very least where gloves if you do need to handle ir move it. A youngster is less likely to bite if handled and you could only catch it if they bite.

Also so thus link for advise on how to handle and safely contain the bat https://www.bats.org.uk/advice/help-ive-found-a-bat/bats-in-need-of-rescue/contain-the-bat
