A group of experts in the fields of AI and neuroscience collaborated to compile this document going over some current theories of consciousness, and describing how to interpret different cases in which an AI might display characteristics that fit within each of their definitions of consciousness.

I have not read it yet (hopefully soon I will), but from looking at the qualifications of the authors and the featured news article from Nature (https://www.nature.com/articles/d41586-023-02684-5), I expect it to be a high-quality thought-provoking document.
