It is hard for most people to imagine the vast increases in the rate of consumption of practically everything that makes modern life possible. Resources appear without most of us ever thinking about how or whether the rising rates of consumption can be sustained.
I imagine there’s a cumulative effect, some greenhouse gasses from 20 years ago are still in the atmosphere and we’re compounding that with the current emissions.
And isn’t it so, that the current climate effects we see today are from released greenhouse gases 20 or 30 years ago because of some inertia?
