Hey Guys. I’m trying to subscribe to an external communitu (battlemaps@lemmy.world), but i’m not sure what the syntax is for such a search. Manually inputting fedia.io/m/battlemaps@lemmy.world to the URL doesn’t seem to help either. Am I missing something?

    1. Search for the community in this format on your home server so it indexes: !community@instance.ext
    2. Search for the community name again.
    3. ??? (You possibly need to interact in order to hit the subscribe button, such as a vote)
    4. Profit!!!

Lemmy is still a bit manual due to early development.

Thanks for the assistance everybody, i’m now successfully subscribed to battlemaps.

The Fedia.IO copy of it is showing no threads, but I assume federation isn’t a back porting process and i’ll get new posts over time. If anything, there’s always the original instance if I want to browse it’s history.

    Thank you for the help.

That’s correct - kbin doesn’t tend to drag in old posts, however Lemmy does appear to do this.
