I actually just defedded myself from Lemmy.world after being reminded they’re doing some shit with Facebook andthe got rid of their largest piracy community. They can keep .world, most of the shittiest takes came from there (but don’t worry i haven’t forgotten about you guys .dbzer0 and .reddthat, you’re cesspits too) The absolute last straw was somebody from .world replying to me unironically with “who hurt you?”
To be fair, while there’s a clique including the owner that is remarkably shitty (“Stalin not giving enough support to the disorganized leftists in Spain is the same as him sending the Red Army to kill them, QED marxism is evil”), the majority of users from this instance are pretty cool.

while specifically being defederated by meta would be peak, i don’t think it’s worth the risk of having facebook users coming into spaces that are meant for trans people.
