I have probably 30 something games on EGS and have never actually bought anything. It is worthwhile to add the games to your Steam library so they actually have controller support.
I bought something on EGS once because it was on discount and they had a stacking coupon that made it even cheaper. Other than that, I have like 300 free games on my account lol. Never had issues with controller support so far, but I wouldn’t put it past them since EGS has a pretty shit interface.
It was for the original Darksiders that I couldn’t get to work with my PS4 controller until I added it to my library and now I usually just do it because I’m a lot more likely to play it. I can’t say I ever really open the Epic launcher except to add a free game.
You would think they could have managed to make the launcher not complete dog shit by now.
Too busy dumping money into free games to desperately get people to buy something on their platform.

That makes sense - I’ve heard playstation controllers can be kinda fiddly.
