Official discourse on the war in Gaza, especially in the media, is a thoroughly state-managed affair, down to the last word. It is designed to create a fantasy world in which a supposedly democratic Israeli state is conducting a war of self-defence with the best possible intentions and due regard for all aspects of international law.

    When do you Brits have the next opportunity to get these ghouls out of office? The conservatives get to keep picking a new prime minister indefinitely or what ?

      Sometime this year when the prime minister reckons he has the best chance of minimising electoral losses.

      Also don’t hold your breath for a radically different attitude from a Labour government because the media loves to point to the antisemitic accusations in the internal party politics.
