I think it’s really cool that this tournament is going on, but why does it have to be only on Apple TV and MLS Season Pass? Poor people like soccer too, right?

That’s bumming me out too, seems like it’s not enough to subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, Disney, Amazon and Apple, every damn match and movie I want to watch is still paywalled :c

To be fair, the alternative would have been a couple matches on ESPN, another couple on FS1, some on Univision and TUDN, etc. Still would have meant spending money.

Yeah, why can’t we have a couple of regular games on TV?

I looked into the MLS season pass and it’s like $100 a year or 14.99/month, which is wasaayyy too much. Especially if I’m only interested in watching 1 team.

For reference, F1 TV is like $80 and you get F1, F2, F3, Porsche Super Cup, all 3 of the free practices each week, the qualifying, the race, and and archive of all the previous races over the years. Plus a bunch of documentaries and technical shows.

I know I made fun of this League’s Cup when they announced it and am still not sold that this is healthy for the players, but the games have been exciting so far. It is also interesting seeing the large variation in attendance at different games. The NYRB game and another game weren’t even a quarter full, while another game I watched (Vancouver or Montreal??) was packed.
